What is a motion?
Ask the Judge by filing a Motion.
A motion is a formal written request of a judge or hearing officer to make a decision about a specific issue in a case. The most common motions filed in criminal misdemeanor and misdemeanor traffic matters include the following:
Request to quash warrant.
Request to lift suspension on driver license.
Request for an extension.
Request to reduce payment plan.
Request to complete community service rather than paying the fine.
Request to continue a hearing.
NOTE: Your motion will be referred to the assigned judge within 24 - 48 hours. In most instances the judge will make a decision within three business days.
